Houston's Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Recap

The ripple effect of a 2012 Sydney motorcycle ride was felt here in Houston this past Sunday as 200 or so riders donned goggles, tweed, and their most classic machines for the Houston Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. The first of the bunch began to show up punctual as ever just around 11 a.m. and it wasn't long before both the front and back of the store were strewn with classic bikes and the smell of oil lightly permeated the air. There was plenty of pre-ride fuel provided by Topo Chico, 8th Wonder Brewery and Taco Deli but by 1 p.m. it was time to start the route. Riders met out back for announcements and were soon off in both celebration and to raise awareness for a great cause. The Distinguished Gentleman's is remarkable in the sense that this same scene at Reserve Supply played out in hundreds of cities across the globe. Since 2012 the DGR ride, along with its charity partner The Movember Movement, has mobilized the global motorcycle community to raise funds and awareness for men's overall health. To serve as the starting point for the ride was an honor and a privilege, especially felt because the DGR niche roots are so in line with the DNA of Reserve Supply Company. The support of the local motorcycle community is the reason we have continued to do what we enjoy just as the vintage motorcycle community at-large has allowed The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride to flourish as it has. Regardless of how big the scale, you cannot help but to appreciate the support and enjoy.
