New Wings on Deck: Red Wing's Limited edition 8818 6-in Mocs

Red Wings has been making boots that are built to serve a purpose for 113 years. They have been the reliable footwear for farmers, miners, and factory workers thus weaving themselves into the fabric of American work wear. Their Red Wings Heritage line takes some of their most iconic designs from the archive and reinterprets them for a more modern and casual lifestyle.

This fall they are releasing a limited edition style: The 8818 6 inch Moc toe in Black Chrome leather and Black Abilene Rough out, all placed on a Traction Tred cream out-sole.

The Moc toe silhouette first appeared in the 1950's and has become one of Red Wings most recognizable styles. The 8818 is a nice texture combination of oil tanned and rough out leather. Although it may look similar, rough out leather is not suede, it's just the other side of the hide and just as durable as full grain. The contrast of rough out on smooth leather keeps the fall look rugged and refined. This past summer we got in some limited edition Mocs and they sold out within a couple of days so a word to the wise: come and get them while you can. These boots are built to last but won't last long on our shelf.
