The Carhartt Brand began with Hamilton Carhartt who founded the Carhartt factory in Detroit, Michigan in 1889. Carhartt tailored their clothing to accommodate the large shipbuilding industry as this era predated Ford’s “Motor Town”. This fabric is very unique compared to Railcar’s standard fabrics. As a 100% cotton ring spun denim it features an intense indigo, highly visible vertical slubs, and pink selvage line. Compared to other 14 oz. fabrics the kaihara denim is incredibly soft to the hand yet very dense.
